Do you have a Question?
Are you Net Zero?
Yes, we are, here at Embleton Interiors we endeavour to give you the best possible products and service at no cost to the environment. Through our eco-friendly manufacture and our carbon reduction projects we are able to manufacture and buy products for our shop with no impact the environment. This is achieved through offsetting some of our inevitable carbon footprint with investments into renewable energy and tree planting.
We have recently won the International Sustainability Award through Luxury Lifestyle Awards based at The One World Trade Centre in New York and have been given the 'Most outstanding sustainable and luxury home furnishings' in the UK.
What carbon reduction projects do you support?
We help many projects but the most impactful are our renewable energy projects. Based manly overseas we help to fund the building and upkeep of countless sites. One of which is The Ouarzazate Solar Power Station in Morrocco where we have helped offset huge amounts of carbon through their construction. We have also been part of many other projects including hydroelectric power, anti-fracking, encouraging hand mining of our crystals instead of machinery and building wind farms in Aruba.
You may notice that a lot of our work is done in other countries and this is an intentional decision as our renewable energy is owned and maintained by huge companies and we can be of more help to developing countries which are often forgotten or underfunded.
Do you plant trees?
Yes, for every £10+ order we are able to put money towards planting trees. These trees are planted all over the world in some of the most vulnerable locations such as the Amazon, Africa, USA, Australia and Asia. We also plant trees in the UK on selected months to help make sure that we are helping far away and at home!
Where are your products made?
We have an amazing network of businesses and artists throughout the UK and manly stock these in our store. We do have wood products grown in Indonesia, Morrocco and America and sent to our UK workshops to be crafted into our amazing selection of wooden products. Our fabrics and prints are all made locally to the Barnard Castle shop and well as encouraging local craftspeople to stock their handcrafted products in our shop.
If you would like to know where a specific item is made then please contact us and we would be more than happy to tell you where it is manufactured!
Do you support artists and do you look for others?
Here at Embleton Interiors, we are dedicated to stocking new and exciting artists both locally and nationally. We currently stock over 17 artists in the shop and we are always interested in stocking others. Most of our products are made locally and support an artist’s dream and creativity, often allowing them to pursue art as a career.
If you would like to know anything else, please let us know via our 'contact' page. If you are an artist then please feel free to show us any work or reach out!
Do you make any products inhouse?
Yes, we make a large amount of our stock ourselves. As a family business we make a huge number of products from scratch in our home studio in Darlington. John Embleton makes all of our wooden mirrors, driftwood house and footstools amongst others. Whilst, Daniel Embleton manufactures and illustrates all the designs on this website as well as make all the products that they are printed onto. Daniel also makes all the lampshades to order and will be conducting workshops soon for anyone keen to learn themselves.

Yes, most of our products that are made by ourselves are made to order online. We can make any product you wish from our product lines and like to change the pattern in any way. For our bespoke lampshades, cushions or any other large item is roughly a 4-week lead time as we have to make the product from scratch and this takes time.

Are your products made from recycled materials?
All our fabrics are made locally from plastic bottles that are collected from the Teasdale area. We then break them down into fibres and make all our velvet fabrics from this. All our fabrics including those made from organic cotton, are all printed using GOTS inks which is a government certified qualification from inks that have no harmful chemical, are sustainable and do not pollute water in any way!
Wood, Metal and Glass:
All our wood is from cultivated woodlands that have been planted and cared for by the farmers who grow them, which allows us to stop deforestation of wild woodland and forest, but still get access to good quality wood. All our glass and metal are all recycled and our glass decor is made in the Scottish boarders.
Paper and Card:
All our artwork is printed onto recycled paper and card, we also make sure to sue water based inks to help remove chemicals from the items manufacture!

We currently do not have an interior design service, however with a background in interior design we are able to give you advice and tailor make any of our products to your preferences.
